Can you see the moon tonight
Sugar-white perfection
Radiant beams of purest light
Our hearts connection
Carries me back to a lullaby
The sweetest song in my memory
Of Mama’s voice on moonlit nights
To hush her babies, singinI see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees the one that I want to see
God bless the moon, and God bless me
And God bless the one I’m longing to seeDid you ever notice the man in the moon
He’s the master of reflection
Somehow he knows and imitates
My heart’s expressions
Some nights he’s melting in clouds of tears
Or shining my smile like the bright sun
But look, tonight the moon looks like
He’s missing someoneI see the moon, the moon sees me
The moon sees the one that I want to see
God bless the moon, and God bless me
And God bless the one I’m longing to see
Favorite App Friday: SoundHound
I got this app shortly after I got my phone and sadly neglected to use it for what it’s worth until recently. One day after being frustrated about not being able tell somebody about a song I’d heard, my friend Audrey said “don’t you have SoundHound?”
Duh. :)
This screen comes up after you “tap here” while a song is playing/somebody is singing.
This is a screen shot of some songs that I have heard on the radio during the last two weeks that I either didn’t know at all or I’d only caught part of and wanted to know what the song was. In this screen you can also listen to the clip of the song in case you forgot what it sounded like or want to share it with somebody.
One of my favorite features about this app is that you can bookmark songs you hear and find via the app. You can then immediately purchase them from iTunes or since they are saved you can go back and purchase them later.
Also, if you notice to the right of the song “Wanna take you home” there is an icon that looks like an iPod. That means that song is already in my iTunes library. Sweet!
I should have searched songs in all genres to give a better example but I didn’t think about that until now. :)
Best part about this app is it’s FREE.
Sunday started out like this.
Apparently I have new neighbors with a sense of humor?? (2nd from the bottom)
Couldn’t wait for coffee this morning and stopped here to get my morning Joe.
I believe this was Monday’s frozen raindrops on my trunk.
Wednesday Sunset on the way to church.
Thursday was in the 70′s. (please disregard the dust on my dash.)
I have a slight obsession with old cars. Saw this Nova this week.

I kept thinking about how to start this post and finally have decided that I just need to start. :) Last fall I had an inkling to make a dress for a little human belonging to a friend of mine. One dress led to two and then to three. After the third dress, I started thinking about how much I enjoyed crafting something and after a couple of conversations with a friend the idea to start a business just sort of happened. Literally.
I have always been drawn to pretty things and enjoy creating things. (I spent 3 years pursuing an Interior Design degree but that’s a story for a different day.) I knew coming up with different creations would not be a problem but I was stuck on my brand and logo. I knew I wanted a name and I also knew I wanted the name to be one that meant something to me. Four years ago I started renting a house from an elderly couple at my church. I had no idea when I became a (next-door) tenant that I would become part of the family. Evelyn Jane (or Jane as she went by or “Gran” as she is affectionately called by her family) just took me in and made me feel like I’d always just been a part of her life. She was one of the hardest working women I think I’ve ever known and by the time I met her she had been retired for many years but she was always doing something. She and her husband were always checking to make sure I didn’t need anything and that everything with the house was okay. They called themselves “nosey neighbors” and I loved knowing they were watching and I’m sure at times re-living their youth.
After suffering a stroke during surgery in January 2011, Gran went to glory on Valentines Day several weeks later. Pappa followed shortly after (I’m sure partly from a broken heart) in March. In memory and as an honor to Gran I decided it would be fitting to use her name for my business. I shortened Evelyn to Evie and Evie Jane was born.
